Infants (Newborn- 24 months) — Crib Nursery
Our littlest ones will be lovingly cared for during the church school time by our
paid nursery staff, supplemented by volunteers who will teach them songs and stories of our faith.  Care is extended during the worship hour.

Children at Westminster Presbyterian who participate in Church School
will learn and experience many of the main stories and central themes
of our faith in fun and creative ways.
We use the following curriculum:
“Toddlers and Twos” published by Cokesbury in the Two-Year-Old class
and the “We Believe” curriculum
published by the Presbyterian Church (USA)
in classes from Three-Year-Olds through Kindergarten.

Two - ThreeYear-Olds — Ground floor, Room 104

Four’s and Five’s (not yet in Kindergarten) — Ground floor, Room 105

Kindergarten — Room 202

Workshop Rotation:  for First through Fifth Grades
Spring 2008 Rotation Leaders

The First through Fifth Graders will follow “The WoRM,” the Workshop Rotation Model.  They will spend four weeks on a story or theme experiencing it in different ways.  Each class will work in one “workshop” (art, theater, games, audio-visuals, and more) each Sunday.  In each workshop they will meet new workshop leaders and work with the shepherds who stay with their class for the entire year.  The children will gather in the Theater Room at 9:30 for a time of music and prayer.

The Rotations for this fall include:

  • Creation – God is the author of all life and God’s creation is good.  As humans created in God’s image we have a responsibility to give glory to God and care for the rest of creation.  Workshops: Art, Cinema, Games, and Science
  • David as a Boy – Three stories: David is anointed king, David comforts Saul with music, and David faces Goliath.  Workshops: Art, Theater, Cinema, Music, and Worship
  • Advent: The Message of the Angels – Mary and Joseph each meet angels who bring them messages.  We will explore the messages, the messengers and how Mary and Joseph responded.  Workshops: Cinema, Drama, Games, and Music

First Grade Worship Education Class
Each fall the First Graders participate in a special Worship Education program to prepare them to attend worship regularly with their parents. This class will occur during the 11:00 worship hour from September through November.  Parents will receive further explanation about this program shortly.
